Natural Home Cures Pure Alkaline Water Drops - Why It's Important To Understand Your Body's PH
pH Testing: Are You Too Acidic?
Every day our immune system is put to work by wave after wave of would-be invaders: bacteria, virus, yeast, fungus, and molds. All of them would love to take root in your body, to grow and multiply.
Thankfully, our immune systems have evolved in tandem with these invaders, and it normally does a fantastic job of fending them off. |
There’s only one problem; the invaders are getting stronger. It seems like every day you hear about a new superbug becoming more resistant to conventional antibiotics but there are steps you can take to protect yourself.
One of the easiest things to do in the war against superbugs is to boost your immune system. The adage “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” really rings true here. What many scientists are focusing on these days is the balancing of acidity and alkalinity in the body.
Our body functions best when it’s slightly alkaline. Yes, there are acidic portions of it—the stomach, for example, is full of very acidic hydrogen chloride (1*) but for the most part, our body runs best when it is in an alkaline state. When our body is out of balance, especially when it is overly acidic, it creates an environment where disease will thrive.(2*)
Why are so many of us acidic? First of all, the body naturally produces a lot of acidic metabolic waste. One familiar example of this is the lactic acid buildup we get when we do aerobic exercise - commonly referred to as “feeling the burn” and is the result of acidic cellular metabolic residue building up in the muscle.(3*) That feeling eventually stops as your body’s “helpers” swoop in and ‘clean up’ that residue.
When you’re ‘feeling the burn,' your body is in an acidic state. What this means is that there is no oxygen in the cell and nothing to neutralize the acid. Calcium is an incredibly important mineral used throughout the human body. In fact, as much as 1.8% of our body weight can be attributed to calcium.(4*) It has some peculiar characteristics that make it an "all-star" of biochemistry. One calcium ion can hold on to 1 molecule of water and 7 other molecules all at the same time and is the only molecule known to be able to do this. Also, its size and shape allow it to easily travel through most cell membranes meaning calcium can shuttle materials back and forth into and out of the cell as needed.
Acidification is the depletion of calcium reserves. Calcium is the buffer that allows your body to neutralize many of the acidic residues of cellular respiration. Specifically, calcium is a part of a molecule called mono-ortho-calcium-phosphate. To create this molecule, there needs to be an adequate supply of calcium in the body. Since the body needs to neutralize excessively acidic conditions in the body—it’s a matter of life or death—if there is not enough calcium in our reserves our body will leech it from our teeth and bones. While this weakens those structures, it keeps us alive. Of course, weak teeth and bones isn’t something you should strive for, and it’s one of the reasons you need to be aware of the pH balance of your body and how much calcium you are absorbing from your diet.
The more acidic your body is, the more heavily it will draw on its alkaline reserves and the more taxed your body will be. Acidification has been recognized as being so important for diseases to take root that some pathologists are now saying “there are no diseases, only disease conditions”.(5*) Diseases can only take root in the body if conditions are right.
One of the ways it deals with excess acid is to store it in fat. If you’re carrying excess fat, it may be due to your body trying to keep the excess acid away from your more sensitive vital organs. If a fat cell in your leg sustains damage from acidification, it’s not a huge deal, but if one of your liver or lungs cells does, things become a little more dangerous. It is this protective mechanism of storing acid in fat that leads many people to drop stubborn weight after they begin their journey to rebalance their body pH.(5*)
Another consequence of acidosis is osteoporosis. Many people believe that because of the high calcium content in milk they should drink it to prevent the disease. That would seem to make sense since osteoporosis is indicated by having thin and brittle bones. If drinking milk were the answer to staving off this debilitating condition, then we would see a decrease of instances in parts of the world that drink a lot of milk. However, the data shows exactly the opposite - in parts of the world where people drink a lot of milk osteoporosis is much more prevalent.(6*) This may be due to acidosis. As the body becomes more and more acidic, it needs calcium to buffer all the acid. Consequently, the body pulls large amounts of calcium from bones and teeth causing thinning and weakening of those structures.
Another unfortunate side effect of calcium leaching can leave you lethargic, tired and open to infection! If this sounds like something you want to avoid, there are some steps you can take to make sure your body pH is correctly balanced. Supporting your body with proper nutrition and supplementation is an excellent way to get things back in alignment. One way to test your body’s pH is to use pH strips and test either your urine or your saliva 4 or 5 times a day for 4 or 5 consecutive days. The trend of that data (the average pH over the entire time you’re testing) will give you an accurate reading. It’s important to note that over-acidification is just as bad as over-alkalization. What you want is a balanced body that has just the right pH level. Consuming high amounts of processed foods, pollutants in the environment and the inability to metabolize acids attribute to an overly acidic body.
If you test yourself and find that you’re inching towards a state of acidosis, besides loading up on dark, leafy green vegetables, you might also want to consider a supplement to get your pH back on track. One easy-to-use product is Natural Home Cures Pure Alkaline Water Drops with Bioavailable Coral Calcium. What’s so amazing about coral calcium? It’s much easier to absorb than ‘regular’ calcium, and thus your body’s calcium reserves are restored more efficiently using coral calcium. This product is a fantastic, quick and safe way to get your body on the road to the perfect pH balance.
5 Points About Your Body's pH Balance
(1) The acid which is known as acidosis consumes vital oxygen. Alkalinity increases your body’s ability to utilize oxygen and neutralize acids that are passed through the kidneys.
(2) A healthy body’s pH must be between 7.35 and 7.45.
(3) When the body does not have enough alkaline minerals, it robs the calcium from your bones which can lead to osteoporosis. When acid waste is converted into a solid form the deposits are left in your joints, muscle tissue, organs, arteries and bones leading to pain and inflammation better known as arthritis.
(4) Acid thickens the blood, causing poor circulation thereby hindering the delivery of oxygen, nutrition, and hydration. Poor circulation and accumulative deposits could contribute to cardiovascular issues like heart disease.
(5) Poorly oxygenated and poorly hydrated cells die as they become more acidic and this can lead to cancer.
